When I was a kid, I watched my father, my mother, and my grandfather sit around the kitchen table stuffing envelopes late into the evening.

My father was a CPA building his practice. Each envelope was a mailer to a prospective client, and tucked inside every one was a small green slip — a promotional discount on tax services. No internet. No Google Ads. No email campaigns. Just stamps, handwriting, and the hope that someone would call.

That image stayed with me. The three of them, hunched over a table, trying to grow something they believed in using the only tools they had. It was deeply personal — and it was the only way CPAs could reach clients at a time when online marketing simply didn't exist.

The internet changed a lot of industries. It didn't change this one enough.

CPAs have always had to hustle for clients — cold outreach, referrals, word of mouth, the occasional mailer. The tools got a little better over the decades. The fundamental problem stayed the same: how does a skilled CPA get in front of the people who need them?
